Murraylands be active Network

The Murraylands be active Network (formerly the Murraylands Active Communities Network, MACN) is a network of organisations that have a stake in the promotion and delivery of physical activity opportunities. Collectively the network can work towards increasing participation in active recreation and sport in turn contributing to the health, social and economic wellbeing of the region.

Benefits of being involved in this network include (all network services are free):

  • Access to Education and Training - Providing relevant education and training programs to expand the knowledge and skills of sport and active recreation service providers, coaches, officials and administrators in the Murraylands. Such workshops include grant writing, volunteer management, governance etc
  • Access to recreation and sport Information - Providing relevant up to date information through regular bulletins and quarterly newsletters.
  • Promotion of local recreation and sport clubs and opportunities to participate in sport and active recreation
  • Supportive Environments -support facility provision and provide access to funding opportunities
  • A chance to voice your opinion on issues facing the region’s active recreation and sport industry
  • Networking opportunities with individuals of similar interests and challenges
  • Access to Targeted Programs and Services that aim to increase participation in sport and active recreation for the whole community, including people with a disability, indigenous, youth, culturally and linguistically diverse, new arrivals, women and aged persons

It is highly recommended that all active recreation and sport service providers become a member of this free network.
