The Murraylands be active Field Officer (formerly Murraylands Active Communities Field Officer) works closely with local recreation and sport providers, community groups, Councils, schools, health, the Office for Recreation and Sport and other key agencies within the Murraylands to increase the quality and level of participation in sport and physical activity.
The Murraylands Field Officer works across the whole region, encompassing the:
- Rural City of Murray Bridge
- Coorong District Council
- Mid Murray District Council
- Southern Mallee District Council and
- Karoonda East Murray District Council
The Murraylands be active Field Officer provides the region with:
- Education and Training - Providing relevant education and training programs to expand the knowledge and skills of sport and active recreation service providers, coaches, officials and administrators in the Murraylands.
- Targeted Programs and Services that aim to increase participation in sport and active recreation for the whole community, including people with a disability, indigenous, youth, culturally and linguistically diverse, new arrivals, women and aged persons
- Awareness and Promotion of local opportunities to participate in sport and active recreation
- Supportive Environments –support for facility provision and provide access to funding opportunities
The Murraylands be active Field Officer program has 8 financial stakeholders including the: Office for Recreation and Sport, Rural City of Murray Bridge, Coorong District Council, Mid Murray District Council, Southern Mallee District Council, Karoonda East Murray District Council, Country Health SA Murray Bridge Office and the Murraylands Regional Development Board.
